🚨 Security Incident Response – What You Need to Know

Welcome to the Protel BPO Incident Response page.

Security incidents can happen at any time, and how quickly we respond makes a big difference. Every user plays an important role in helping protect our systems and client information.

⚠️ What is a Security Incident?

A security incident is anything that could affect the security of company systems or data, such as:

  • Suspicious emails (phishing)
  • Malware or viruses
  • Unauthorized access to systems
  • Lost or stolen devices
  • System outages or unusual behavior
  • Possible data exposure

πŸ‘€ Your Responsibility (VERY IMPORTANT)

All users must:

  • Immediately report any suspicious activity or incident
  • Follow instructions from the IT Team during an incident
  • Avoid taking unauthorized actions that could worsen the situation
  • Continue to handle data carefully and securely at all times
  • Ensure all files and information are reviewed before sharing or sending

πŸ‘‰ If in doubt, report it — don’t ignore it

πŸ“ž How to Report an Incident

If you notice something unusual:

  1. Contact the IT Team immediately
  2. Provide:
    • What happened
    • When it happened
    • What system or device is affected
  3. Do not attempt to fix the issue yourself unless instructed

🚫 What You Should NOT Do

During a suspected incident:

  • Do NOT ignore the issue
  • Do NOT try to investigate on your own
  • Do NOT delete files or logs
  • Do NOT share information with unauthorized persons

 What Happens After You Report

The IT and Incident Response Team will:

  • Investigate the issue
  • Contain the threat
  • Fix the problem
  • Restore systems safely
  • Document and review the incident

πŸ” Why This Matters

Quick reporting helps:

  • Protect client and company data
  • Prevent bigger security issues
  • Maintain business operations
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements (PCI DSS)
